Deciding What to Print
Print has changed a lot in the last few years; costs have come down for basic colour printing and there are many more choices including what you print on (it's no longer just paper), shapes, sizes, lamination, varnishing, UV effects, hologram, die cut, cut out, scratch and reveal and even scents such as fruit or coffee.
The biggest change has been the advance of digital print, making it economical to print 1 to 200 of an item, in good quality color and with "variable data" if you want (personalized with the recipient's name and other details).
Your choice should be guided by the outcome you are seeking. Do you need to prompt the recipient into action? Will the message be competing with a lot of other sensual clutter you need to break through?
The bigger the task and the greater the competing clutter, the more important it will be that what you print is a standout.
